The waters around Bunaken, Manado Tua, Siladen, Mantehage and Nain have the status of BUNAKEN NATIONAL MARINE PARK.

Since March 15, 2001 a new entrance fee system was launched. It is modeled on that of the successful Bonaire Marine Park system. To enter the park every diver/snorkeller/visitor must purchase (dive operators, like us, sell them), a special waterproof tag. (locally called "PIN"). This tag is individually numbered for inventory control and is valid for one calender year. Once bought, you can't sell it again. The tag can be fastened to your BCD or wetsuit and is also a nice souvenir. The price is 150.000,-Rp. or about 14,- Euro in 2007. The money is being used for conservation activities - such as patrol systems and educational programs. For more information and current projects, ask us directly.
Important Note!!!
It is possible to sponsor the tags and to have your logo printed on the back. For example, "Aqualung Dive equipment" and "WWF", have taken this opportunity already in the past and spread their messages in an unique and effective way.
